
Initiative Launch: In a collaborative effort by the Ministry of Tourism (MoT) and Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC), the fifth training program under the Amrit Dharohar Capacity Building Scheme was inaugurated on January 6 at Chilika Lake, a Ramsar site.
Training Programs: Two 15-day training programs, Alternative Livelihood Program (ALP) and Paryatan Navik Certificate (PNC), aim to empower 60 participants from local communities around Chilika Lake. The focus is on certifying them as nature guides, fostering nature-tourism potential.
Capacity Building in Chilika: The Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, has initiated the fifth training program under the Amrit Dharohar Capacity Building Scheme at Chilika Lake in Odisha. The program aims to empower local communities, boat owners, and Forest department officials through two training courses: Alternative Livelihood Program (ALP) and Paryatan Navik Certificate (PNC).
Ramsar Sites Initiative: The Amrit Dharohar Initiative strives to enhance livelihoods in Ramsar Sites, with Chilika Lake being a priority. Previous successful training programs were conducted at Sultanpur National Park, Sirpur Wetland, and Yashwant Sagar.
