SADA TANSEEQ EXERCISE

Introduction Recently, the inaugural edition of the joint military exercise named ‘SADA TANSEEQ’ between India and Saudi Arabia was launched at Mahajan in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

Exercise Activities The exercise comprised various activities including the establishment of mobile vehicle check posts, cordon and search operations, house intervention drills, reflex shooting, slithering, and sniper firing.

Participants Representing India, the contingent from the Indian Army consisted of a battalion from the Brigade of the Guards (Mechanised Infantry). On the other hand, the Royal Saudi Land Forces represented Saudi Arabia.

Objectives The primary objectives of the exercise were to train troops from both sides for joint operations in semi-desert terrains, in line with Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter. Additionally, it aimed to facilitate the sharing of best practices in tactics, techniques, and procedures, thereby enhancing interoperability and camaraderie between the troops.

Exercise Duration The exercise was scheduled to be conducted from January 29th to February 10th, 2024, providing ample time for both contingents to engage in various training activities.

Key Activities Throughout the exercise, activities such as establishing mobile vehicle check posts, conducting cordon and search operations, house intervention drills, reflex shooting exercises, slithering maneuvers, and sniper firing drills were carried out.
