Minimum Educational Qualifications: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent institution. Those awaiting the results of their qualifying exams in 2023 may also apply, but their admission is provisional until they provide proof of passing the required exam by the deadline for submitting the Detailed Application Form.
Restriction on Re-appearance: Candidates who have been selected in a previous examination for Assistant Commandants in any participating force of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) are not eligible to appear in subsequent examinations.
Physical Standards: Candidates must meet the prescribed physical and medical standards outlined in Appendix-VI of the Notice.
Possession of NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificates: Having NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificates is desirable and will be considered during the Interview/Personality Test phase.
Selection Procedure/Scheme: The examination consists of two papers: Paper I and Paper II. Paper I (General Ability and Intelligence) is conducted from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., while Paper II (General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension) is conducted from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Paper I – General Ability and Intelligence: This paper is worth 250 marks and consists of objective type questions covering areas such as general mental ability, general science, current events, Indian polity and economy, history of India, and Indian and world geography.
Paper II – General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension: This paper is worth 200 marks and includes an essay component (to be written in either English or Hindi) and comprehension, précis writing, and language skills (to be attempted in English only).
Physical Efficiency Tests (PET): Candidates who qualify in the written examination undergo PET, which includes 100 meters race, 800 meters race, long jump, and shot put, with different standards for males and females.
Interview/Personality Test: Candidates who pass the Medical Standards Tests will be called for an Interview/Personality Test, which carries 150 marks.
Final Selection/Merit: The final merit list is based on the marks obtained in the written examination and the Interview/Personality Test.
